The Phantom of the Opera ran on Broadway from January 6th 1988 to April 16th 2023, with the show officially opening on January 26th 1988.It played for a total of 16 previews and 13,981 performances - 62 more than the original West End production. The show temporarily closed from March 12th 2020 to October 22nd 2021 for a total of 586 days during the COVID-19 pandemic.Ironically, the Majestic Theatre would later be closed for 585 days from April 16th 2023 until November 21st 2024 for renovations after Phantom closed and the revival of Gypsy began previews.

Please note that this section of the archive includes images of individuals such as James Barbour.I want to make it absolutely clear: I do not support his involvement in the show in any way, and I strongly condemn his actions. His presence in this archive does not reflect any endorsement or approval of him, his behavior, or his beliefs.I've considered whether to exclude images of him, but ultimately, this page is intended to serve as a comprehensive archive of all aspects of Phantom's history. However, I want to emphasize that the inclusion of these images is in no way an expression of support for James Barbour, nor does it imply any tolerance for homophobia, racism, misogyny, or any form of discrimination or harm. This site stands against all forms of hatred and bigotry, and it is solely a resource for Phantom-related content and information, with no room for endorsement of harmful actions or ideologies.
